The Apologetic Visionary

Hello there. Yeah I know. Saying hello right now so casually might be a little annoying given the fact that I haven’t posted anything since November. But in my defense I haven’t really had the time to really sit down and write.
The past year has been extremely hectic. I joined college last August and it’s been an incredible experience but it’s been really hard trying to balance a social, academic and “inner depressing poet” life.

This is my first time ever doing a personal post so bear with me if it gets slightly redundant.

Anyway, I joined med school almost a year ago and it’s been an amazing journey but it sure has had a terrible effect on my blog. So for all my wonderful readers who have been coming here often just to check if this lazy, self absorbed writer got off his ass and actually did some writing, to them I give my deepest apologies.

As of now I’ve been having one of the largest creative blocks I’ve ever had. The time constraints also make it really hard for me to get anything done.

If anyone would like to do a collaboration or even give me topics on what you want me to write or anything in general. I could really use the help.

So please comment below with ideas for a poem or email me at northernnevermore@yahoo.com

With Love,
The Apologetic Visionary maybe?

Tessellate

Change your very being to blend in
Not be colorful while the rest have pale skin
Ignore the crow’s calling to sleep with doves
Maybe then you will find true love.

Love of being accepted into to the idea of propriety,
Bearing the dark mark of a disheveled society
Vanish into the constant pattern of in-numerous nobody’s
Trapped in the array, mind fervently fuzzy.

Cut the sides, smooth the edges
To fit right in, resignation you must pledge.
The fear of being an outcast far too great
Sink into the mould as triangles tessellate.

Is this the wondrous utopia you had dreamt ?
An atrocious life where you are unnaturally bent.
Maybe you were never meant to fit the “mould”
But instead to be your true motley of silver and gold.

Cosmic Love

This is the story of two iridescent lovers,
Perfectly aligned under night’s cover.
Forbidden romance, heated desire
Lit by the sun and his magnificent fire.

Chained to their duties, forevermore
Never can they meet, bound to the shore.
Eternally enchanted by the moon’s silver trance
Allowed however, just a second’s glance.

Twice a year they are allowed to meet
In an eclipse that marks a passionate feat.
Moments together, love worthy of divinity
Wild adoration, lasts for infinity.

Waves of space rejoice at their cosmic union
Blend of Fire and Ice, the perfect fusion.
Shooting Stars a sign of their harmony
Supernovas claiming death with cacophony.

The Capgras Delusion

Before you read this poem you should know what Capgras Syndrome really is. Capgras Syndrome is a disorder in which a person holds a delusion that a friend, spouse, parent, or other close family member has been replaced by an identical-looking imposter.

Are you the person I have always known ?
Identical looks, nothing but a clone
You declare otherwise, know you to be a liar
Impersonate the one that I truly desire.

Enter my life, pretend you belong,
Absence of my true partner, it wishes to prolong.
A perfect double that is all that you are,
An imposter with the malicious intent to scar.

It takes your place and insists that I am delusional,
But my head tells me that this is unethical.
This shoddy knockoff has emotions, sparse
Feelings towards me, nothing but a farce.

The one that I love has been replaced by this cheap mimicry,
A walking reminder of your dull duplicity
When do you actually plan on returning ?
Is it when this twin of yours is finally seen burning ?
